bedroom scene (art)

back next

Well, here's more art! Some people have requested it and I love that people are taking the time to load it and look at it. I'm having fun with this project. I may be doing more email entries than usual, because I don't have a whole lot of time right now. But we'll see-- I like doing real entries with a sidebar and everything. And I still owe you a Sims entry.

In case you're wondering, the actual art thingie is about fifteen inches high and whatever inches wide... ten I think? This is one of the ones I did last night. I'm excited about the project now because I think I wrote some good poems. In case you can't read the poem above, here it is:

bedroom scene

Vincent invites me into his bedroom

I slip on the slanted floor
take off my shoes for better purchase
on the splintered wood

I try to slip
under the covers
but they are made of paint
I am soon sticky, and red

So I sit in the green chair
bodies, bodies
in love with flesh
fingers move right
through the windowpane, a bird
in the hand, a hand
full of swirled paint, swirls of silver

It is an odd room

The paintings are crooked
he won't let me straighten them

He puts his right hand
on my shoulder, saturates the bristles
of a camel-hair brush
and paints dimension right onto my skin

Where the fourth wall should be
the floodlights come on

This is quite a seduction
