Bonus: Plus-Sized Models

Plus-sized clothing is finally beginning to catch up with timely trends. And thank god for that. And I totally want a poncho. Why is it that they look so ridiculous on me?

I'm sure you wouldn't look ridiculous in a poncho. You're tall, so you automatically have that working for you. The key is to find one that's long enough and that comes to a v at the bottom, either symmetrically down the center or not. One should avoid the "capelet" looking poncho, or the caplet itself, unless one has very narrow shoulders.

I really like I.N.C.'s versions, and the "regular" size is One Size and it fits me (a 14/16) just fine, but they also make plus sizes.

Knit a poncho! Poncho knitting is fast and fun and good! And you'll have a poncho at the end!

[I just knit a poncho -- not for me, but for my five-year-old niece. I feel ridiculous in a poncho, but she will be adorable.]

Maybe they look ridiculous on you because they do on everyone! It just goes back to that "she's big, put her in a tent" thing. Very very wrong. Us curvy girls need clothes that curve with us!
