Here And There
I love finding great sites in my referrer logs. I'm not recommending Scale and Perspective because Ms. Foley had the good taste to link Big Fat Deal, but because it's got a ton of interesting and well researched information about obesity, in addition to a compelling personal story.
"Most of us even know, at least on a basic level, what it takes to lose weight: eat less, move more. Simple, right? Well, in the words of an old friend of mine, it's simple...not easy.
As someone who was overweight herself, I knew what it was like to pick up the latest weight loss book or magazine article only to find the same old trite advice. I tried to provide content for our members that addressed some of the deeper issues."

what I have learned over the years from my experiences and others around me with the same problems is tho you have to eat less than you burn to lose weight one thing people are forgetting is what the body has to say about all this.
you cannot force the body to live on less forcing it to go into stores, and isn't that what the prinicple of eating less is all about?
it has to decide when to tap into stores that is based on a continuous eating when hungry and never ever going hungry, trouble with this people don't understand what hunger is and have lost touch with their signals and have to spend alot of time regaining those signals again.
second people in their desire to have fast results wouldn't stick to a natural thin eating program long enough to see results, because it takes years, not months to convince your body that famines are over for good, only time and good consistent on time eating will accomplish this.
it can take up to five years depending on your genetics and dieting history, and I define dieting as eating less cal to force the body to use up stores. once your body is convinced famines are over, it then will bring down your appetite and poof you lose weight, but this is the body making you eat less not you telling the body it has to get by on less, otherwise it interprets that as a famine and you know what happens in that scenario.

Wow! Thanks for the surprise plug! I have enjoyed your blog for quite some time, so your praise means a great deal to me.
I should note that I owe many thanks to Beth for allowing me to "borrow" her blog name for my project. Should I decide to maintain this site beyond the end of the semester, I will try to come up with a unique name for it.
This is still a work in progress ... I have three days to finish it up!
Thanks again! :c)
