Yes, It's Friday
I'm strongly considering scrapping this blog and starting a new one, because the template is so effed up at this point that I can't even have Blogger comments. I guess I can try going back to Haloscan comments for now, but I like comment notification. Anyway, "blahdee bloodie blah blah, technobabble." (Maybe my new blog can work a quote from The Office into every entry. That would be way easier than you'd think, sadly.)

Today I have the dreaded I'm-weighing-in-tomorrow-except-I'm-hanging-out-with-friends-tonight type of situation. We'll call this a Code Kung-Pao. We're having Chinese food, and I don't know what they'll serve, exactly. I'm in charge of wine and dessert. So: conundrum. How can I make sure I don't blow my week right before weigh-in? (I've already had two borderline questionable meals, and I consider my Flex Points spent twice over, so that's no help there.)

Ultimately I decided to go to the grocery store (two blocks from work, very convenient) to see what I could find for lunch. I picked up a giant container of organic greens, a container of cherry tomatoes, and some low-calorie soy-sesame-ginger salad dressing. It cost me ten bucks, but I had a giant, satisfying salad for two points, at most. Then I came back to the office and they were offering free bagels. Damnit, if I weren't on this diet, I could have saved ten bucks and had a free bagel instead. Damn you, healthy eating.

I also hit on the perfect dessert to bring: strawberry shortcake. I'll get some angel food cake, some light Cool Whip, and strawberries. That's healthy enough so that I can eat it (especially if I go heavy on the berries and lighter on the cake) and still yummy enough that it won't seem like I'm bringing some sad-ass diet dessert. If I get some kind of chicken-and-veggies thing (and skip the rice) I will be okay with my points for the day.

Yes, marvel at my ability to work the system. That is some awesome shit right there.
