The Geo Pet broke some bad news to me today: he has a terminal disease. Now, it's kinda bad timing that this happened on the same day Pamie and Jessi talked about their cars, because really, I'm starting to sense a pattern of topic theft here. But I can't help it: today is the day the Geo Pet decided he's dying. This morning, I turned the key the first time: nothing happened. I turned it again: I got a series of petulant clicks. I turned it a third time and kept it turned, muttering to myself. Sputter sputter sputter click click click click whiiirrrr..... the engine turned over. Finally.
This malady just started this morning for no apparent reason and has been happening on and off all day. It gets worse the longer the car waits for me. I'm afraid of what will happen tomorrow morning after the car has been off all night: I'll have to set my alarm for three in the morning just so I can go turn on my car and keep it on life support. What's wrong? I have no idea. But I am not going to throw good money after bad. Sionara, Geo Pet, I have the check and I'm off to see the new car wizard.
Just for the record, my car is more disgusting than both Jessi and Pamie's. It's a Geo "torm" because the S has fallen off. The windshield is cracked. The dash is cracked. There's decals plastered on the front windshield from every single semester I spent at college. It's got a dent in the front. The side mirror has been completely ripped off and to fill the gaping hole (for car washes and such) there is a red fuzzy heart. I'll have pictures at the funeral.
Okay, all flipness aside, it's going to be really, really hard to give up my little car. My first college essay was called "ode to the Geo Pet" and it was all about my love for my car.
I rented a bunch of movies tonight, although I got caught up in cleaning the house and haven't watched any of them. The movies are Dick, The Big Picture and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I watched the very beginning of the latter (lattest?) one just now, and my golly, it shore is bizarre. Hilary Swank is in it. Natasha Gregson Wagner is in it (and she is, as usual, bad). Kristy Swanson looks about 37, especially in mental comparison with Sarah Michelle Gellar.
I can definitely see how I might have liked this movie in 1991, but now it is just a 90 minute anachronism.
April 4 was me and Matt's anniversary. One year together, which started approximately... oh... five seconds after Marcy moved out. (Now that, my friends, was a soap opera.) Thank god our relationship has evolved past that infatuation stage. I just hope the next year is just as good: there are some tough changes and decisions ahead.
Anyway, I'm getting uncomfy with all this romantic schmoop. (What romantic schmoop?) But since it was our anniversary, and he does complain that I don't wax romantic about him here, let me state for the record that I love him. And I miss him, too. "Smoochie come home!"

Blood red, of course.Journal Quote of the Day:
“Okay, but the web doesn't need another Buffy The Vampire Slayer dedication site with blood-red backgrounds and velvety dark motifs or spooky gothic text and decorations featuring implements of the dire.”~ Right. I mean, um, yeah. Of course, Kathryn. I knew that. Yessiree. My BtVS site is a satire, see? It was a joke, you know. The real one is all pink.
