Tangled up in Blue
Louise Pohle-Bjolin

"I always include a list of what books I'm currently reading and sometimes I
try to finish one book before starting the next. Okay, so that last part is
a lie."

"My journal is NOT dedicated entirely to reading, but at the end of most entries I affix my read du jour.

"Words keep me going"

Wank
Shannon

"I most definitely am a bibliophile.  I cannot promise that every entry will be about books.  Indeed, I don't wish to promise any sort of frequency.  But I do know that I carry a book with me nearly everywhere I go, and I probably spend a good hour or more reading each day, thanks to my morning and evening commutes on the subway.  I am a fan of many different authors and many different genres."

I cannot recall a time in my life when I have not been reading a book. My "to read" list just keeps growing and growing, as do the piles of books around my house. As soon as I finish one, I start another. As the saying goes, "A book is a gift you can open again and again."

"I'll often use my journal to talk about books, or yell about them, or
viciously malign their authors over perceived injustices. But I love reading too much to stay mad for long, and I always, always come back for more."

"i'm reading five books right now.

this is not unusual for me.

when i'm feeling especially dramatic, i compare myself to literary characters in entries.  my favorite is lizzy from pride and prejudice.  sometimes i go slumming and pick bridget jones instead.

i'm a nick hornby fanatic, and my journal reflects it."

"I am an amateur writer hoping to become professional. I also love to read. You will find me constantly talking about favorite writers like Robert Parker and Stephen R. Donaldson. I review books on a relatively regular basis from the point of view of a writer. Fear my Anne McCaffrey rants!"

enise says, "I started reading at four and haven't stopped yet. I support my book habit by working part time at a bookstore, where I get 33% off as an employee. I don't know why they bother cutting me a check; all my income goes straight back to them."

"I'm an unrepentent book addict with a diverse (if not perverse) range of interests, a slew of books piled wide and high in my apartment, and a penchant for blathering on about them, given half a chance; in fact, the main reason I started an online journal was to babble about what cool things I've
read about recently. Plenty o' links to what I've read and favorite authors with occasional diary-like entries."

"cooking up casseroles of life; finding creative ways to use the leftovers; simple ingredients:  love, angst, worry, hope, and wonder."

"The day I'm not in the middle of at least two books is the day that I'm reading magazines, newspapers,
or comic books instead.  I keep track of what I'm reading (and writing); I also keep track of every book I read during the year.  On occasion, I review a book in another section of my site, Books in a Nutshell.

Honestly, with me, it's all books, all the time, and I love it that way. "

"With books, there's a certain indescribable joy that just never goes away.  No matter how busy or stressed I get, I know I can always be cheered by a trip to Borders to browse among the new arrivals, or by re-reading an old favorite.  Some of the best books I've got come from this great secondhand bookstore in a converted farmhouse from the early 1800s; the owners have a big friendly golden retriever, which ambles from room to room as you wander around. Even if I wind up broke, I'll still have my books. "

"Books have been an important part of my life from day one, and I'm more than happy to share whatever great read I'm currently into in my journal."

I make sure to always have at least one book and one notebook wherever I go.  I am always reading, always writing, always trying to find something new to do with words.  I'm a poet with tendencies towards slam, review books when I feel they need to be commented on and I can tell what I was reading even in older entries where I don't mention it simply because they affect my style.  Yeah, that was Bukowski and that was Hughes and on and on..."

"I can go a day without eating sushi, without watching Buffy, without drinking peach green tea. I can't go a day without reading anything even if it's just the back of the cereal box, but I prefer a book."

Gazing into the Abyss
Michael Rawdon

As an avid reader of comic books and science fiction, I  regularly talk about and review both media in my journal.  I
also post my "to read soon" list in my journal and provide links to all kinds of things.

I often claim that I'm a slow reader, but the truth might be   that I just have too many hobbies...
