Stephanie Yer Blues I cannot recall a time in my life when I have not been reading a book. My "to read" list just keeps growing and growing, as do the piles of books around my house. As soon as I finish one, I start another. As the saying goes, "A book is a gift you can open again and again." |

amy "i'm reading five books right now. this is not unusual for me. when i'm feeling especially dramatic, i compare myself to literary characters in entries. my favorite is lizzy from pride and prejudice. sometimes i go slumming and pick bridget jones instead. i'm a nick hornby fanatic, and my journal reflects it." |
John "I am an amateur writer hoping to become professional. I also love to read. You will find me constantly talking about favorite writers like Robert Parker and Stephen R. Donaldson. I review books on a relatively regular basis from the point of view of a writer. Fear my Anne McCaffrey rants!" |

an unrepentent book addict with a diverse (if not perverse) range of interests,
a slew of books piled wide and high in my apartment, and a penchant for
blathering on about them, given half a chance; in fact, the main reason
I started an online journal was to babble about what cool things I've

or comic books instead. I keep track of what I'm reading (and writing); I also keep track of every book I read during the year. On occasion, I review a book in another section of my site, Books in a Nutshell. Honestly, with me, it's all books, all the time, and I love it that way. " |
Adamant Turtle "With books, there's a certain indescribable joy that just never goes away. No matter how busy or stressed I get, I know I can always be cheered by a trip to Borders to browse among the new arrivals, or by re-reading an old favorite. Some of the best books I've got come from this great secondhand bookstore in a converted farmhouse from the early 1800s; the owners have a big friendly golden retriever, which ambles from room to room as you wander around. Even if I wind up broke, I'll still have my books. " |

Chris Blakeley I make sure to always have at least one book and one notebook wherever I go. I am always reading, always writing, always trying to find something new to do with words. I'm a poet with tendencies towards slam, review books when I feel they need to be commented on and I can tell what I was reading even in older entries where I don't mention it simply because they affect my style. Yeah, that was Bukowski and that was Hughes and on and on..." |

even if it's just the back of the cereal box, but I prefer a book."
